I just became eligible for Medicare and signed up for a Medicare Advantage plan. Can I switch plans during this year’s Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP)?

Yes. You can change Medicare Advantage plans or switch to traditional Medicare with or without a stand-alone prescription drug plan between October 15 and December 7 each year.

You can also use the annual Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (January 1-March 31) to switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan or switch to traditional Medicare.
